Well, usually I'm posting pictures of precious babies, super cute kiddo's or just fun pictures of whatever we are getting ourselves into... Today, I have decided to change things up a bit :-) I'll start things out with the fact that I don't know what to do with a pattern from the store. (period) But, I can trace a pair of pants and make a pattern!! So that is what I did. Second, I really can only sew SUPER basic to say the least. I fell in love with a line of clothes you might be familiar with called Matilda Jane. But, I refuse to spend $70 on pants for my 2 year old. So I started searching on Etsy.com (if you haven't checked it out, it is amazing) looking for some cute ruffle pants. I came across this
http://www.etsy.com/listing/56552781/sizes-12m-to-4t-denim-ruffle-jeans?ref=sr_gallery_36&ga_search_query=denim+ruffle+pant&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes%5B0%5D=tags&includes%5B1%5D=title
And I began to think that these can't be too hard could they? So then I googled how to make ruffle pants and came upon this

(2 videos) and decided to see what I could come up with.. I found that they were really easy! Here are a few picture of my ruffle pants for Charlotte
What do you think? I choose a stretchy denim in a dark blue. I also made the ruffle a 4 inch ruffle however you could make these completely custom to your preference. I also came across this INCREDIBLE blog!!! Sewing Dork.. (sounds like me) http://sewingdork.blogspot.com/ This blog is so cool! The "author" has so many money saving tips and tricks to salvage your clothes and make something really unique for you and or your little one. (sorry, it is mostly for girls). Thanks for checking in! I will post a picture of my little model once we wakes up from a wonderful nap!
Oh, I almost forgot the best part!!! So the fabric at Joann's was about $9 yd and the elastic waist band was $1.50. Total cost was about $10.50 and about 1 hour of time!!! BIG TIME SAVINGS!!! I will admit that getting the waist size it a bit challenging but once I had that figured out it was a piece of cake..
OMG these are amazing! Nice job!
